As known to all, originated in China, tea has a history of 4500 years. With China's reform and opening up to the outside world and its accession to WTO, China's tea production and processing industry has developed by leaps and bounds. What worth mentioning, in recent year, high grade tea, organic tea developed rapidly, propelling China's tea industry's further development. While domestic consumption has raised noticeably, the export volume has also reached 280000 tons ranking world's third in terms of tea export.
At the same time, as Chinese people's living standard keeps rising, and the young generation picked up the habit of drinking black tea and coffee, China's import of high-grade black tea and coffee is increasing rapidly every year. In 2004, the import volume hit USD 20 million, up by 150% over year 2002, and became the most rapidly expanding consumption market for black tea and coffee.

China would like to cooperate with trade partners, producing countries and importing countries to enhance the competitiveness of tea and tea drink in the world, and to provide more safe tea for the tea consumers in the world.
